Between dreams and the night sky there lie some important things. Some things,
I need as much as I need to breathe and to eat (although they are less boring).
They are the stars in the night sky of my life, somewhere between dreams and reality.
I`ll post about my paintings, drawings, photographs etc. as well as travelling and maybe sometimes about music and theatre.

Rome - Day IV

Since there were many tourists everywhere already on Saturday evening, because of the holiday on Sunday, we decided to spend the day outside of the city centre. At least far away from Vatican.
During the train ride I took the opportunity to listen to the personal guide of the two ladies from the US opposite to us. She told them (and me) a lot about Ostia Antica, which was our destination.

Rome - Day III

There are so many things to see in Rome and although I knew that I couldn`t see everything, I still wanted to see as much as possible. In addition, I desperately needed some time for myself. And the light in the morning is really good for photographing. So I dragged myself out of bed to get the first bus around 5.30.

Rome - Day II

Musei Vaticani

On the second morning we went to the Musei Vaticani. I had made an online reservation which was really good. There was a long queue even before the museum opened. Nice feeling to walk  past it

Rome - Day I

When I left the Metro station "Colosseo" in the first afternoon in Rome, I was overwhelmed with so many impressions. After my experience in Paris, I  hadn`t expected to find the Colosseum right in front of me, just across the street. Then there were a lot of tourists, taking pictures, speaking in many different languages. And there`s the Italian traffic, of course.

Vilsalpsee. Lake and forest in early spring. Some impressions.

Two weeks ago I went to the Vilsalpsee with my family. You can see the lake above. Well, actually you can`t. It`s under the snow.
We didn`t spend much time together. The others were walking ahead and I stayed behind to take photos. Then I walked rather quickly to catch up with the others and I contuinued in this speed, left them behind until I stopped for another photo. If you take a lot of photos yourself, you probably know this process. And how annoyed the others can get after a while.
Be that as it may, here are some of the pictures:

Paris day III

At 8.00 a.m. on the third day of my trip, I went to the Champs de Mars to take some pictures of the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower

No need to spend the money to go up there, as the view is probably the same as nine years ago. But I promised a friend to send her a photo from there.
It was really nice at that time, because there were hardly any tourists. Just some people looking as tired as I felt and the ever present military.

Paris - day II

Day II

The Conciergerie

Unfortunately the weather forecast was correct and it was raining on Saturday morning. I went to the Conciergerie as soon as the museum openend, to make it in time for my guided tour at Montmartre.

Paris - day I

Paris. I hate it - but oh, how I love it!

The idea to spend a few days in Paris popped into my head one afternoon, while I was revsing impressionism for art history. And then it  just stayed there.  I dreamt about van Gogh and Monet and I even looked at the old photos of my last trip.
That`s how I ended up alone, in the middle of February, in a city I thought I would never want to see again, with the plan to take a lot of photos (better ones than all those years ago) and visit the Musée d`Orsay and the Orangérie.
